Данная работа рассматривает политические эффекты лихорадки Эбола на предвыборную ситуацию в трех наиболее пострадавших от эпидемии государствах Западной Африки: Либерии, Сьерра-Леоне и Гвинее. Неоднозначные усилия руководства этих стран в борьбе с вирусом стали основанием для переоценки отношения к правящей элите при сохраняющихся глубинных этнополитических противоречиях. Кроме того, связи национальных режимов с внешними силами, вовлеченными в борьбу с Эболой, также серьезно усугубили внутриполитическую ситуацию в конкретных государствах. В итоге лихорадка Эбола стала причиной существенных перемен в области массового сознания, общественных движений и электорального поведения в западноафриканских государствах.
