Новый курс ЮАР в борьбе с ксенофобией

Аннотация:

После падения режима апартеида в ЮАР ограничения на перемещение чернокожего населения были сняты, и в страну двинулись потоки мигрантов. Правительство страны обещало им широкие возможности в новой, свободной от расовой дискриминации Южно-Африканской Республике. Однако образ современной ЮАР далек от идеала «радужной нации». За последнее десятилетие количество случаев насилия и дискриминации в отношении африканцев не из ЮАР резко возросло. Масштабы распространения ксенофобского насилия в стране требуют вмешательства государственных органов власти в решение проблемы.

В статье рассмотрены различные факторы, влияющие на распространение ксенофобских настроений в ЮАР, дан анализ сильных и слабых сторон политики ЮАР в отношении насилия против мигрантов. На основе исследования предложены пути совершенствования мер по борьбе с проявлениями ксенофобии.
