В связи с событиями на Украине Соединенные Штаты развернули против России в Африке оголтелую клеветническую кампанию. Несмотря на грубое давление около половины (26 из 54) африканских государств отказались голосовать за антироссийскую резолюцию Генассамблеи ООН. Председатель Африканского союза (АС) М. Салл высказался за отмену западных санкций. Публикуемая статья посвящена современной политике администрации Дж. Байдена в Африке к Югу от Сахары (АЮС). США признают растущую роль Африки в мире и используют все имеющиеся в их распоряжении средства для сохранения и укрепления своих позиций на континенте. Право США на глобальное лидерство под сомнение не ставится. Главные враги, как и повсюду – «авторитарные КНР и Россия». В статье рассмотрены позиции и действия Соединенных Штатов в отношении конфликтных ситуаций в Эфиопии, Мали, Сомали, ДРК, Зимбабве и Южном Судане, дан анализ встреч и контактов руководителей госдепартамента США с африканскими лидерами, изложена официальная позиция по задачам, которые ставятся перед африканским командованием США на континенте.
