Abstract:

V.G. Solodovnikov, who rose swiftly from the peasants of the Russian heartland to the heights of the world science and to higher diplomatic posts and ranks, gives grounds to take a closer look at the social circumstances and personal qualities of the man who made such take-off possible. The formation of African Studes in our country in the 1960s and 1970s, under the leadership of such a brilliant personality, corresponded to the foreign policy and the needs of the foreign economy of the Soviet state, which supported the liberation struggle of the peoples of the African continent.
