Abstract:
The author deals with the events in Burundi connected with the presidential elections of 2015 and gives the analysis of the possible versions of the development of political situation in the country. Special attention is paid for the international community reaction to these events. The article contains a brief review of the conflicts between two main categories of Burundi population – hutu and tutsi in connection with current political crisis. Grave economic consequences of the crisis are touched on in the article as well.
