Abstract:
The article examines the participation and role of women in the revolutionary events in the Arab countries in 2011–2014. The article analyzes the reasons for the rise of “Islamic feminism”, the main stages of women’s struggle for their rights in the course of the revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen. One of the main themes of the article – the study of the phenomenon of increasing violence against women as a result of the radicalization of Islam and the emergence of Islamist terrorist groups such as ISIS.
