Abstract:
The terms “military and political conflict” and “humanitarian disaster” have become an integral part of the newswires. In recent years the Republic of South Sudan (RSS) has increasingly been featured in the media spotlight in this context. The article focuses on the people who determine the foreign and domestic policy of the RSS and how they do it, as well as discusses such topics as the survival of indigenous peoples in armed conflict, the display of humanitarian solidarity by the UN, and the role of international diplomacies in encouraging the adjustment of policies adopted by South Sudan in 2011 and abandoned by the country in 2013.
