Abstract:
The TAZARA railway was built to provide landlocked Zambia with the route for copper export to the port of Dar-as-Salam. The railway is named nowadays as an economic «lifeline» for Zambia. The TAZARA has a strong impact on the rural regions along the route in Tanzania as it facilitates trade across previously isolated communities. The TAZARA needs technical reconstruction.
